  1. Great insight Rachel!  I can attest to many of your points as I tried to build a startup while running a full time business and it just didn’t work because there were holes in our plan.  Makes me motivated to revisit our project though. :)

  2. Totally agree. This is an excellent approach to take not just for side projects, but main projects as well.

  3. Very helpful, thanks for the writeup Rachel. One thing that really resonates with me is “Avoid Spending Too Much Time Creating a Productivity System.” I think sometimes I spend so much time trying to organize and plan I end up with little time to actually work. I’ve found using a simple Pomodoro system (25 minutes of work. 5 minute break.) can be very helpful. It’s getting started that’s often the hardest thing to do. “Then roll up your sleeves and work.” sums it up well. Thanks again!

  5. “We find the time for those things we place importance on.” That is the reality. I find myself more and more saying that “I do not have time ” for the things that are low priority. Doing that saves me time for more important things. This also provides me energy. When we do the things that we care about, we are recharged of energy, making the same amount of time much more efficient.
