  1. The elephant illustration is based on the story of the blind men and an elephant. One of my favorites

  2. Have always been a fan of Kevin’s work, and always will be. I’m a proud owner of his signed sketchbook from years back. Good luck on future endeavors, Kevin! ALA won’t be the same without you.

  3. Hey, I have a wonderful idea! How about we make a collective blackmail and force Mr. Cornell back? First, it would be right up his alley and thus he won’t start to cry and two, wee caaaan’t liiive wiithout him!! Hear?! We can’t!

  4. I really like the Responsive Photo. It totally rocks, I’m just a new visitor here in ALA, I wish you all the best.

  5. End of an era. Kevin brought such a humanistic, analog, and simplifying sensibility to some of the most technical and nuanced topics on the web. Not unlike some of the best ALA authors themselves.

  6. There is one 200 page book on A Book Apart that I would order just like that: “The Web” by Kevin Cornell. Just illustrations and the titles of the articles. Wouldn’t that be great?

  7. They are all great. BUT, good point about the responsive one. That’s brilliant.

  8. I forgot when I first stumbled upon Kevin Cornell’s personal site, but I remember when he posted that he would be the illustrator for ALA, a publication that I have since thoroughly enjoyed. While I have loved his illustrations here, I have missed Mojo, the sock monkey quite a bit.  I’m hopeful we’ll get to meet him again soon.

  9. I would DEFINITELY buy a book with all those illustrations and the titles of the articles. I admire Kevin’s work. It’s one of the main reasons I keep coming back to alistapart. Thanks for all of them! ;)
