  1. in the year that led up to the (re-)introduction of variable fonts I did a ton of interaction design work on high-dimensional font design spaces for the Metapolator project. I already know the whole landscape for this topic, dragons & dungeons included.

who want to really produce interfaces for variable fonts? if that is you, then just get in touch…

  2. Hi Andrew,

Thank you for the post on this as it was really an eye opener for me and the team.

    I like how you mentioned:

UI should be considered in the context of our design tools with the acknowledgement that it will change how we design, influencing our choices.

And that as we receive better design tools, this, in turn, creates the better design. The resurfacing of variable fonts now will really be an eye opener, especially to many designers and developers on the Web who might not have heard about this some time ago.

We’ve got a lot of new people lest the scarcity of Web Designers and Web Developers, but they come out as new and I believe that bringing up these concepts and workings like variable fonts is similar to bringing up electric cars again now that we have the right technology to work on them with greater impact and seriousness!

    Kind regards,

    Mic

  3. You have many javaScript frameworks in order to get “responsive fonts”. But it’s not yet as simple as for classic responsive DOM elements.
