  2. While I absolutely love this idea, I feel it needs to come from an organization that is already international (which would likely need local/national branches/affiliates). Essentially, we need Fronteers to be like the web—something that is world wide.

I also think such an organization should actually define titles and create certifications for the knowledge of its members. Literally the only thing I can think of that feels legitimate to me that exists like that today are the W3Cx program for Front-End Web Developer that was created by the W3C over at edX. For example, it really makes me sad to see so many people thinking of themselves as great front-end developers when so much of the web does not follow accessibility guidelines. I think a good front end developer needs to be building sites that are accessible to all.

I will be honest, I support the idea and would consider donating to something that allows web developers a say in the process. But that is me as a lone developer. I am not part of an organization that would contribute. I do believe the people at Fronteer are highly qualified, and would mean well, but I would feel uncomfortable donating to only give a voice to something that is essentially only for Dutch developers (again, not anything against the Dutch, just saying this needs to be expanded in scope to serve the international community).

  3. That’s a great idea! I strongly support you.

I wrote an article about your project for the German-language Webdesign-club SELFHTML:

ein Wörtchen mitreden = Have a say

    Thanks for your efforts!
